2)When do we move?
3) There isnt a three its just two points doesnt seem worth it!

I could not log in from work one day until I typed the IP address of IW into my host file, found in the Windows files. Have you done this? Even today, if I remove that IP from my host file...I cannot log in. Give it a try if you have not already.

Go to find files/folders in your start menu, type in the word "host" and see what comes up. There may be more than one, but just get the one that looks like a little windows flag icon. Open it with word pad. Type in:

24.129.133.61 www.ironworksforum.com # IWF...

and leave the spaces in that I have left in that description.

Save and close, then try logging on.

Ignore that the url has made a hyperlink in my above description.

To clarify larrys desccription, theres a file in the windows folder called hosts.sam. You need to rename it to hosts, with not extension, and then add the line at the bottom. Or just create an empty file and put that line in it, then save it as hosts.

Problme is your not having a DNS problem so this wont help.

What happens is he logs on, and then the forum accepts his password but continues to regard him as a guest, It only effects his machine, but happens with other UBB forums like sorcerors place, and he also has similar problems with other forums like cabala (YABB). I cant see it being his machine, as its just been formatted, and I cant see it being the forums, since it seems to only effect him.

He is using NTL cable from england, if any other users in the same area are using NTL cable, posting whether or not your having similar problems might give a clue.

I am sure, since it's at school, that you are behind a proxy. and data like username and passwords are locked out. Some programs can do this (Child protection proxies they call it)...

OR... something else. can't say since I don't know more about the problem. It is NOT on this end--server wise. But... Your account COULD be corrupt though.. but that is highly unlikely.

Try making a new user called 'test_felix' and be sure to use a different email address. see if you can logon and post. If so, then we have found the problem.
