I was just wondering. How much would upgading ram on a computer? Like dollars per meg.
|
Depends. Are you going RDRAM, SDRAM or DDRRAM? How fast do you want it? How much? (more mb=better value per mb)
|
Woah slow down!!! I want the kind of ram that can speed up a computer's game performance.

Sorry ;) You need to find out what your Motherboard supports though, cuz each is shaped differently. If it's really old, you might be better investing in a new mobo. How to find out easiest download Dr Hardware then go to the manufacturers website. If its SDRAM, get a new board, cuz SDRAM sux, IMHO ;)

EDO RAM - if your computer uses this, burn it and get a new one SDRAM - If you computer uses this you can pick up a 128Mb stick for about $30. But this is getting obsolete. Get pc-133 if you have to. DDRRAM - my favorite, more expensive but not too bad. I Dont have a specific price though. pc-2600 is the current fastest IIRC. RDRAM - yo got ripped if your using this. Or maybe I just hate it. Anyway its high throughput but high latency, so I dont like it. Its also the most expensive. |
Once you find out what type ram go to www.pricewatch.com and you'll get a good cross section of prices.
If you are not using rdram www.crucial.com is the best! |
