After I killed Del and her minions in the street, they turned into gaseous forms. I control y'd the gaseous forms and they died. It that bad? I also did the same thing to Hareishan.

Nope, i dont think that's bad at all .. their only purpose is to be destroyed ... well, except Del maybe, he appears later on.
But im quite sure that the game doesnt really mind .. Del 'll still appear.
I read somewhere that someone killed a certain person over 3 times .. and still he appeared when the story required it, same for my encounters with Saemon Havarian, that guy just doesnt get the point of no (hit)points left .....

Thanks daan. Maybe someone resurrects Saemon every time, I don't know.

This is not true.According to the late Dr Van Richten the stake merely incapacitates a vampire.Should the stake be removed the vampire is fully "alive" and really really hungry.The stake is usually made of Ash although different type of Vampires may require another material.It is said for example that dwarven Vampires can only be impaled by a stalactite.
In order to "kill" the vampire you must-usually again- cut of its head and its heart and expose them to sunlight.Only then can you be truly sure that the fiend is TRULY dead.
