OK, i havent been playing this game long (this is my first time really) and im in ch. 7. I never really read about how damage works, but here is how i think. if something is 2d4 doesnt that mean 2 rolls on 4-sided die.. so you multiply the number together and thats the maximum you can do? so like a sword with 2d4 could do up to 8 damage? Im pretty sure thats how you calculate it, but any i wrong? if i am, can someone correct me?

you are completely correct ...
it does a minimum damage of 2 x 1 = 2 and a max.damage of 2 x 4 = 8 After this, strenght bonusses and such are applied for Xtra damage as well. Hope it helpz |
you can also get 2d4 + 4 and 2d4 2 fire damage obviously adding to the damage.
|
Thus, meaning that 1d12 weapons make maximum of 12 damage and minimum of 1... other than strnght bonuses, what else do you get to increase your damage???

So to clarify, lets assume we have the following fighter: Weapon: Warblade +4 (5-16) Bracers: Gauntlets of Weapon Expertise (2) Strength: 19 (7) Weapon Proficiencies: 2-H Sword ***** (3), 2-H weapon style **(1) The damage range would therefore be (5-16 + 2 + 7 + 4) = 18-29 with each hit. |
