Have any of you played this yet? Its for playstation 2 and the game is awesome. Its like a cross between Diablo and Baldurs Gate, and best of all its two players. I just killed a beholder and I think I might have to fight a dragon soon

you think it's worth a go then? ...well I don't have a ps2 but I know enough people who do and I'm sure I can persuade at least one of them to buy BG2DA :D ..looked more action oriented ..as you say like a cross between Diablo and BG2 which quite frankly put me off but I'm thinking maybe it's worth a go now.

I think the best thing about it is the fact that you can play 2 players. My buddy and I played it all night last night and I can't imagine not playing it all night tonight again

Heh, cheers! It's a great game! Fantastic playing, even if I've only been through half of it... You don't have to deal with incredible character complications, inventory stuff, and it goes by very quickly.

Good game ;)

arhh well you see I like those "incredible character" complications ..looks to be lacking a lot of depth to me think I might just leave it then. I just had a read upon it, the classes are sevearly limited and the role playing and character development potential is too limited for my liking.

AzRaeL StoRmBlaDe 09-03-2002 06:05 PM

it is rather limited you can only chose 3 classes and those classes have specific races assigned to them. Also it doesnt go very deep into characterization, unlike the PC versions, but there is a great deal of gameplay control, and overall it is a very fun game

aye well, probably but I like more depth to be honest, still I'll keep an open mind.

Loved Dark Alliance! I'm at the very end of the game now (I'm one or two areas away from the last boss) an its been a hell of a rush! Its absolutely awesome when you play it with a friend next to you, and its got incredible graphics. I've been advocating this game on IW since I got it, and its always a good idea to try anything once. People that restrict themselves to only a certain kind of game are missing out on this one, since keeping an open mind is essential for most of the games coming out on the PS2 (Kingdom Hearts anyone?). You wont know what you enjoy until you try it, but most people just tend to make assumptions about games they havent tried yet. Dont pass judgement till you've seen it yourself!

I tried it once and have to say that I was very disappointed. The game has none of the aspects I loved so much in BG2-SoA. But PS2 games are more action-based, so for most of the users it's ok, I think.

AzRaeL StoRmBlaDe 09-03-2002 08:41 PM

Its definitely less role playing and more hack and slash, but there are still a lot of fun role playing aspects. Ide give this game 3 3/4 out of 4 stars
