ARGH, I started school yesterday, and I'm not having much fun... simly because the stupid timetable they gave me doesn't make any god damn sense... I just realised that I missed the first class of "Internet for Librarians and Infomaniacs" because they called it something completly diffrent on the damn timetable, not just that but yesterday I missed another class because they had just updated the timetable and forgot to put the new version on the internet were I got mine... help I'm in hell!

Is university always this hard?

Jorath, it certainly seems that way. Looks like you got a bum deal (for now). Don't worry, it'll probably get better.

I always had trouble decifering the two letter code that designated the building. Once I figured out that SH was Sewall hall, I had to figure out that all the rooms in the 300's were on the ground floor. Apparently the building has two sub-basements where the 100's and 200's are located. Do you think it was a coincidence that the Pysch dept was located there?

The worst was my sophomore year. My 9:00am class was in the class room furthest from my dorm room. There was not another class room on campus closer to my room, I kid you not. After a couple weeks it dawned on me that sleeping in my bed was more comfortable than sleeping in class, which I invariably did, so I stopped going.

My second year timetable (second term) had a few anomalies. Like classes that didnt exist, lectures that turned out to be in land management instead of psychology, god knows what else.

Of course I went and organised all my practical classes first day back and the rescheduled lectures turned out to overlap them. And then it turned out impossible to reschedule the practicals. That was a year of hell, and a contributing factor to why I failed second year.

That and not working :D

The moral - dont trust lecturers, secretaries or computers. And get a map, no university is complete without the Building That Cannot Be Navigated.

Well so far I've had no trouble locating the buildings... which by the way are all about as big as the college I went to, or the classrooms. its just the trouble of being at the right place at the right time

Sounds like your uni has some organisation problems Jorath - bad luck :( . I'm always paranoid I'll go to the wrong room or wrong time at the beginning of semester but so far it's all been good. A few times rooms have changed but apart from that my uni runs a tight ship ;) . LOL actually my brother once never went to a tutorial because he couldn't find the door to the building... I chalked that down to his own incompetence but ;)

Good luck for the rest of semester anyway . First week's always a bit of a easing in anyway, and most probably half the other students had the same problems you did ;)

Sounds like my Uni. I had a class that started at 6pm and ended at 9pm. then they changed it to start at 5:30 and end at 8:30, then they changed it to start at 5 and end at 8, all wothout telling anyone! Then they changed the day - that really pissed me off because half of us turned up and found out the class was yesterday!
It just goes to show that teachers and organizers are Incompetent.

Well, today was much better, only 2 classes, but I got there on time and at the right time. It was almost fun.

By the way has anyone ever heard of "the Brithis Museum"...?

One of the teachers (or professors...) was talking about it and wrote "Brithis" and then I noticed in the paperhandout it was also Brithis...

How can you teach in a university and don't know how to spell?!?
