I'm pretty stoked that you can gain a stronghold in this game. That's so cool. Unfortunately, the Druid one is probably lame.

Why do you say that its prolly lame? Have you had it before?

Intimadater 06-06-2002 06:34 AM

Just what do you do at one of your strongholds?

Vlad Tepes 06-06-2002 08:08 AM

Wuts the paladin stronghold? is it that order of the radiant thing? if it is, damn thats a shi*** stronghold.. but anyway i would like a lil hint here, thanks

You can also store things in your stronghold that you don't want to be carrying around until you need them (like that pommel jewel of the Equalizer and those dang-blasted Nymph nuts.)

Strongholds also provide additional side quests and quite a bit more experience every time you go back to complete the quests. The best ones, IMO, are the Bard stronghold (Five Flagon's Theatre) and the Warrior stronghold (De'Arnise Hold) as far as how much experience and storyline they add. The thieves' stronghold (Mae'var's Guild) can be fun as you get to micro-manage thieves on a week-to-week basis, but not too many sidequests unless you download the third-party mod that enhances the stronghold. The stronghold for rangers adds a nice little trinket after doing a few quests for the town. However, unlike other strongholds, I think that the rangers cabin is the only type of stronghold you can loose if you do not show up in time. I've done the de'Arnise stronghold quests all the way through and never got thrown out, but I've had the cabin taken from me twice before for not showing up in time. And the worst part is that you loose anything you might have left inside. For me it was the golden pantaloons.

I like the mage stronghold, the Planar Sphere. You get to have your own golem and apprectices who makes u items. plus the whole thing looks really cool

I think you can lose all of them actually if you don't show up in time.

One thing to note: starting Chapter 4 and going through Spellhold and the Underdark will put all stronghold quests on "ice" until Chapter 6 starts, so you don't have to worry about losing time there. You will continue to accrue money, though, at De'Arnise if you have it! ;D
