Pick the version of the following songs that you like best!

Oh feck me, brilliant poll!
You have some of my favourite bands on there! (Yeppers, I am a 60s nut). So of course The Kinks and The Who beat Van Halen and Elton John HANDS DOWN! And I love Martha And The Vandellas, whoever voted for other versions obviously hasn't heard that one. Marvin Gaye is brilliant, and I love early Beatles (managed to blag 4 first press Beatles albums off my mum recently!)

Well I am obviously OLD! LOL Seeing "Satisfaction" in there reminded me again of a story I refrained from posting in the "How loud do you play your music thread. I guess it is dying to be told LOL so here goes.

We were all cleaning up the house & yard before (our divorced & lonely) mom got home one day (back in the *cough70'scough*) and she came home a little early.
Well we had the stereo on in the family room and a clock radio in the (open) window sill of the front room blasting our favorite radio station at full volume.
Her first scream reached my sister in the family room, "TURN THAT DAMN THING OFF!"
My sister got to the stereo but the radio in the window (same room my mom was in too lol) was still going.
Mom walked across the front room, yanked the radio by the case to unplug it and threw the whole thing out straight the window while yelling "I WILL NOT HAVE ANYONE SCREAMING I CAN'T GET NO SATISFACTION OUT OF MY WINDOWS!" I kid you not...each and every last one of us kids' first thought was "Man! Mom needs to get laid!" We laughed about it for months.

Well there its told, maybe now I can forget about it again lol.

Ugh, I barely even recognise half of them.

Oh perleeze! This is practically blasphemy, have you ever listened to The Kinks? You are telling me that Van Halen are better than The Kinks? I am feeling rather woozy at the mere suggestion of it. You are belittling one of the best bands in the entire of music history!

Their versions are very bad! ;)

And can be found on an album called Golden Throats! Check out some samples (among others) at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...714491-6462502

It is too funny! :D

OK, how about the following:

When A Man Loves A Woman
Percy Sledge
Darrell Banks
Michael Bolton

Harlem Shuffle (10 points if you know who wrote it!)
Bob & Earl
The Rolling Stones

My own view on these:
a) Darrell Banks (Percy Sledge comes in a good second tho)
b) Bob & Earl
