As some of you might have heard, some time ago a politician was murdered.
He was buried near Rotterdam (Netherlands), but his wish was to be buried in Italy somewhere. I understand his wishes and because the tomb wasnt finished in Italy has was "temporarily" buried near Rotterdam (Netherlands). Now the time has come that he's to be "transfered" to Italy. This means he has to be dug back up. His brothers agreed with ONE tv-station that they may record this event. I think its just sick, making tv about other people's loss and I dont know what is going on in those heads of the victim's brothers. I wouldn't like to dug up again in the first place, let alone to have it recorded for the publics entertainment. Those tv companies are just out for money, noting else. Just as recently a home with 6 children burned down (the 6 children died), 1 child and the mother survived (child was on vacation in another place) and now again, tv. stations are on it like vultures to tape it again. It just disgusts me. Any thoughts are most welcome [ 07-18-2002, 01:49 PM: Message edited by: Mirac Honorguard ] |
Well, think of it like this: Knowing Pim he would have loved the attention. And it is his last wish, so what more can you do than respect it ?

Davros Collective here - my views are simple - if he wanted to be buried in Italy his family should make it happen. If a TV station is stupid enough to think there is commercial advantage to be gained then they are screwballs but that is their problem (it is also their sentence). If his family are content to take the money from the screwballs abd accept that this means a public display then that again is their concern. If I was the dead guy however, I would not be so appy.

I hear ya friend. It is a very sad thing the media has turned into the leeches they are today. It's really terrible, I thought there would be a change with the Lady Diana incident, which was caused by paparazzis (which should all be shot in the kneecaps and dropped in the middle of the tundra, if I got to make the call).
And I mean just the fact that they send people in the middle of wars to get the best shots and the best interviews with the risk of getting their reporters and cameramen shot and killed, without even blinking, is terrible! But the worst part is that most people want this. They buy the magazines, they pay to get the channels that air the most exposuring news. It makes me sick EDIT: Oh and as for the burial, I think you should let the guy be moved to Italy, if that's what he wanted. Yeah, like I said, if the dude wanted to be removed, then its his choice.
But theres more sick people in the media then just this. I once saw something on tv, 2 person sitting next to a big brown bear. What happens --> Bear goes berserk and attacks one of those persons, 2 guys drop on the bear to make the beast stop while the <censored> cameraman continues FILMING!!!!! Maybe its just me, but this is getting one sick world, if thats gonna be the 21th century entertainment. |
well we don't forget the paprazzi that went up to the dying Princess Diana and instead of calling for help just took pics
