I've seen people sending .pdf document to me but I don't know how to create one. I open Adobe Acrobat 4.0 but I couldn't type anything in it. the help file there isn't very helpful.

can someone tell me how to create one?

Adobe Acrobat only serves as a READER. You need to buy Adobe's horribly expensive full program in order to write them. Very useful - you can even download entire websites into PDF format. I've done that with pics of Jordan. :D

some graphics editting programs allow you to save files as PDF, the full version of the latest acrobat retails at $249 (adobe acrobat 5.0)

There are, shall we say 'other' ways to get hold of a full version of adobe acrobat but I reckon I might get thrown out of IW if I elaborate any further. :D

There's actually quite a few free or cheap alternatives.

Do a Google search on "txt to pdf" or "doc to pdf" or "whatever-you-are-trying-to-convert to pdf"

You can also try a search on Tucows...

Any Mac application can save as a pdf file, so if you have access to one, you could easily convert from Office or whatever...
hope this helps.
