Does anyone have this card? How is it compared to other video cards? A friend offered to sell me one for $100 and I'm not sure. Currently I have a Voodoo 5 and it seems to do alright. The specs on the Geforce seem to be a lot better but I would rather hear some info on it from someone who owns one or knows about it. I would appreciate any helpful responses that anyone has on this.

If it's and 'MX' version of the GF4 stay away from it. If it's and actual Geforce4 with programmable pixel shaders and it's not hot, jump at it. A real GF4 for $100! If you don't want it, i'll take it.

Hehe...yeah it's the real deal, but I have heard the 4600 is much better and obviously if I get the 4200 I'm not getting the other. I don't if that price difference would be worth it though.

I just called my bro to see what video card he put in our CPU, but i got his friend instead. My brother is a major EQ guy and uses a GF2. His friend suggested finding a G4 64bit(or somthing like that) at CompUSA, maybe around 100$ he said. I want a good card for NWN, but so far im looking at 175$ for both game and card...i wonder if the G2 would work for NWN?

If you are willing to spend $175, buy the GeForce III, Ti 500. That will more than suffice for NWN.

I payed $150.00 for my Xtasy GeForce III, Ti 200 at Best Buy.

Two things to look for...
1) That it is from Xtasy...not PNY.
2) That it is the Titanium version.

The prices should have dropped with the introduction of the Geforce4, so you may find it for $100.00...not including tax.

Yeah, the 4200 is a good card. Sure it's not as good as the 4600 or 4400, but it is WORLDS better than the MX cards. You can clock a 4200 up to about 4400 speeds without much difficulty. Since you currently have the Voodoo 5 you are probably used to pretty good FSAA. If you are a sim guy who likes to use FSAA for everything, be sure you get the 4200 w/ 128 mb of ram instead of the 64 mb version. W/ 128 megs of ram you will get excellent 4x FSAA quality. You can pick up a new 128 mb Visiontek Xtasy 4200 card for around $225.00 and an Xtasy 4400 for around $250.00. That being the case, if you were buying new I'd say spend $25 extra and get the 4400.

For $100.00 you can't go wrong. Get it.
