You're in the army now!
Twenty-eight years ago, Herman James, a Tennessee mountain man, was drafted by the Army. On his first day in boot camp, the Army issued him a comb. That afternoon, an Army barber sheared his head. On his second day, the Army issued him a tooth brush. That afternoon, an Army dentist yanked several of his teeth. On his third day, he was issued a jock strap. . .The Army is still looking for him. At one time in my life, I thought I had a handle on the meaning of the word "service" . . . the act of doing things for other people. Then I heard the terms Internal Revenue Service, Postal Service, Civil Service, Service Stations . . . . and I became confused about the word "service." This is not what I thought "service" meant. Then recently, I overheard two farmers talking and one of them mentioned that he was having a bull service a few of his cows. SHAZAM!! It all came into perspective. Now I understand what all those "service" agencies are doing to us! |
didn't you know that? flip to the last page of the Good Book, or better yet, look up flank in the dictionary
