In the year of 2000 on July 4th my father stopped smoking. It was becuz of me that he did.I had always said to him"Dad,please stop smoking.I don't want you to get cancer or something".So he finally decided to stop.He has kept it up for a long time now so now my bro, sis, uncle, and grandmother are going to stop smoking. My uncle's birthday present for me is for him to stop smoking, same for his son,and my cuz. Good for you Someguy.
When I wake up every morning coughing my guts up I wonder why I ever started smoking. I'm trying very hard to cut back.

Good job SomeGuy!

I've been trying to get my mom & dad to stop, but I think that N.Y. state's taxes on cigarettes is going to do it for me.

I guess the amount for one little box thingy is outragous.

I wish that I could do the same thing

Almost my entire family smokes :(

At least I don't have to live with them - only visit them once in a while.

Nice job, SomeGuy!

I've done the same with my father, and I'm still trying to get my mother stop smoking as well.

That's excellent!

This is most excellent I have now been a successful non smoker for two months now so I know how difficult it is. If they do a little backsliding and have one dont be too hard on them. Offer encouragment and a stick of Nicotine gum to thelp them get through the rough times when they really crave a cigarette Its TOUGH.

After having smoked for nearly 60 years my father quit smoking as well. That was 4 years ago and he hasnt had one since.

I will admit, though, that upon leaving the hospital after seeing my wife I bummed one from a girl in the hospital parking lot. As it turns out her boyfriend had just had brain surgery as well. I havent had another one since and I dont think I will.

Anyway, tell your soon to be non-smoking family members that I think this is most grooviously excellent They may slip and they may slide but help them stay on the path
