Hi. I'm having trouble with my winamp midi player. A while back I had winamp installed, I downloaded a (at the time) new version of winamp that updated/improved the quality of midi synthesizing when using the program. Since then I've had to format my hard drive, so I just had the old version of winamp with the not-so-great synthesizing. Now, I've downloaded the latest version of winamp but I still just get the same old, primitive, tacky-sounding midi playback. I'm really intrigued as to what it was that I downloaded that made the midi's sound so much better (some sounded almost like real-life instruments). I know very little about midi synthesizing myself so I'm pretty much stuck. Can anyone help me out here? I know I havn't explained things very clearly but if anyone can help me I'd appreciate it

Try updating your sound card drivers. Then get the biggest wavetables you can for it. A wavetable is a table that says what each MIDI instrument sounds like. Small ones dont have very good quality, the bigger the better.
