As some of the older lot on here know, my Dad lives in Hat Yai in Thailand and has done for 3 years now.

Read here - http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servl...rnational/home

I've since spoke to my dad, and he was in the bar mentioned in the article, it's called the Swan. The canadian was my dads friend. My dad was fine, but said there were 6 bombs. One went off right outside the pub, him and his friends ran outside and another bomb went off, killing the canadian who was my dads friend.

My dad, his wife and his son are all ok, but he says it's really not safe for westerners out there at the moment, so he's a bit worried. He also said that the rebels have said they were trying to destroy Thailands tourism industry, and were aiming for Malaysians and Westerners.

Just thought id post see if anyone else knew anything about this, as I know a few Thai's are on here.

Hope your all ok.

Yup, english teacher, same as my Dad. That's how they knew each other.

Ive spoke to my Dad, and he say's the Thai people are happy about the coup as most of them dislike the primeminister. It's a national holiday there today and they are all off work.

Hopefully it will settle down soon!

Yeah, because the Thai people are BEHIND this move.

Plus the King ordered it, and they beleive he is a God in a mans body.

What he says goes.

Then why did they have to wait for him to be away to do it?
