One of my best friends in High School's father was a lumberjack for a long time, and he admitted quite plainly that the problem is that neither side is willing to concede anything and both are asking for far to much from the other, eco-nuts don't want anything done to the forests (which means forest fires go unchecked because fuel is rampant) the timber industry wants more wood and it takes a long time for replanted sapplings to grow into trees, etc etc. no easy answers and lots of problems with most solutions.
Besides, everyone knows that ecologists like big fires [img]tongue.gif[/img]
