Milosevic found dead in his cell
Former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic has died in the detention centre at The Hague tribunal.
The tribunal said he had been found dead in his cell on Saturday morning. The cause of death is not yet clear.

Mr Milosevic, 64, has been on trial at the UN war crimes tribunal for genocide and other war crimes since 2001.

The tribunal last month rejected a request by Mr Milosevic to go to Russia for medical treatment. He had high blood pressure and a heart condition.

The tribunal has ordered an inquiry into the death.

"Milosevic was found lifeless on his bed in his cell at the United Nations detention unit," the tribunal said in a statement.

"The guard immediately alerted the detention unit officer in command and the medical officer. The latter confirmed that Slobodan Milosevic was dead."

We all knew he was sick, but I wouldn't rule out suicide either.

I wonder if they will finish the trial anyway.

according to CNN.com they found a drug in his system that is commonly used to treat leprosy, that makes blood pressure medication less effective. The question is, did he obtain it and use it to get access to Russian medical treatment, or was it administered by someone else (the media doesn't seem to even be considering foul play, which of course imediately makes me suspicious)

Well no tears shed here over that piece of crap.

I suspect sucicide, he was raving something about in the end he will beat them all. So now the courts will be investigated for trying to poison him and they may be found to be responsible as part of a big set up by the piece of crap that involved killing himself. If he could not beat them in life he would beat them in death, that is how twisted that piece of crap was.

I love a good conspiracy theory, but he wasn't worth assassinating, at least not anymore. This was a case of poor-quality medical care and/or neglect.

That's pretty much impossible, seeing as it was in the Netherlands and not some third world country. The guy simply died, that's what people do every day.

Don't tell me you think every journalist in the West is part of some massive UN-sponsored conspiracy?
