Well, usually if you get a fighter with an armor class of around -5, then you're OK. Also, you can cast Fireball, and that usually takes 'em all out. The only exception with the fighter is Sword Spiders, they will hit you a lot, just because they are hasted.

Summoning allies works to. Use them as cannon fodder. Animate dead is great but any monster and or animal summoning will do. After that take them out with ranged weapons.

to fight spiders - try giving ranged weapons to as many people in your party as possible so that the spiders die before the approach your party. Problem will arrise with wraith and phase spiders.

To prove how superior I am, I use to take just on fighter, load him with antidote and let him slay the buggers on his own. A two-handed sword or longsword +2 hepls in those situations

For me, there is only one solution to spiders: ENTANGLE!
This spell kicks major @$$!!! You will usually entangle the larger part of a group of spiders with one spell, so use two entangles and they will all be pinned to the ground http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif Then just shoot away with ranged weapons... http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...hterpurple.gif

Yes Melusine! Thats what saved at least a couple of members of my party. I only had 1 spell. I saved it for the third one. I think I should try to level up someday(hehe) but thank the game for save features! I blasted it good with power wand still tearing us up. Oh well ..Battle on for bg2.
