Marines at Saddam Hussein's presidential palace are feeding abandoned animals (bears, monkeys, lions, tigers, birds...) MRE's and local sheep. Has anyone contacted someone who can get these animals out of there yet or is this just another one of those tragedies that the media gets to play out until they starve to death, die of eating totally wrong diets (apparently even the sheep "didn't set well" with the lion they fed it to) or a neighborhood Bar-B-Que gets thrown?

Its just as sad as the waste of human lives imo, even sadder considering they are innocent captives.
I'd much rather see those animals shot and put out of their misery than to see them endure the way they are being made to...that complex is close enough to the airport that something can be done, even at the same time they start focusing on humanitarian aid.

I am a animal right's kind of guy. I just would not hold out hope when you have massive looting, gun fight's and the disorder off trying to get aid in (without getting hijacked)

I am an animal rights kind of person myself. If they aren't going to help them, they should kill them before letting them suffer.

The area they are in is safe from the looks of the lounging that's going on there.
