The military will investigate and she'll get a medal worthy of her actions.
We got 19 yr old little girls (I've got two daughters 20 & 17) that can kick their butt! :D They should have taken their chance to comply to 1441 when they had it, now they're gett'n whuuuped by little girls.

She was braver than I would have been under similar conditions. I would have saved one bullet for myself. She's one tough lady.

It is being reported now that the medical team who examined her in Germany cannot find any evidence of gunshot wounds, at least this is what her father is being quoted as saying in telephone interviews with media.

I wish people would get things straight before they put it on the air.

She definitely deserves recognition for what she went through.

A medal would be nice, a cut of the movie take would be nicer

On a more serious note when I heard one of the ladies had been rescued my heart was hopeing for that coloured lady from Texas who was shown on Iraq t.v. The look of terror in that poor girls eyes will be the one nightmare I will have with me when this hell is over. Even now thinking of that look in her eyes makes me nearly cry... so out of her depth. I hope they find her soon :(
Anyone else as touched as I was or am I just a big softie like my wife keeps telling me *sigh*

I was hoping it was her too and I was so happy, so surprised to see Jessica Lynch instead. That woman's face, her fear, brought tears to my eyes. Her face is clear and vivid in my memory...in the forefront of my mind when I say my prayers for our troops.

I cannot even look at the faces that either FOX or CNN flashes across the screen with the title "The Ultimate Sacrifice", accompanied by dramatic music, those killed in action...its like they are my kids, my family...the first two times I saw them do that, a huge lump formed in my throat and I couldn't even speak to ask my room mate to change the channel momentarily. Now I am not so caught off guard and turn away to say a prayer for their families. Somehow I feel like the media is making a big show of deaths that should be honored in a more gentle way imo.

I'm on board with Jessica getting at least a Silver Star. Yes!

Same feelings here Wellard. The boys looked frightened too. I will never forget their eyes. :(

About Jessica, medical report stated broken bones but no bullet wounds.

From what I read in the paper today it sounds like the stories of gun shot wounds and stabbings were simply not true. The broken limbs are certainly true and I am waiting to hear whether they were inflicted by her captors or in the fight - they look suspiciously like abuse to me but that is a personal view only. At least one account that I have read talked of frenzied resistance and her shooting down Fedayeen and kicking and biting to the very end - but that was also one of the accounts that had her being shot and stabbed etc so what do you believe.

I am interested in hearing her tale - I believe in her bravery and I think this rescue was FANTASTIC, but I want the story without the gilt edged frosting.

The Iraqii lawyer that risked his life and his family to get the info out to the US military, and who revisited the hospital several times to draw maps and guard locations - if that story is without embellishment then he sounds like he could do with some recognition as well.
