Great news huh? I'm well pleased. I only just heard this on TV via a phone link to a reporter based in Basra.

I think they will be even more pleased when the food and supplies begin to arrive. They will see that we aren't conquerors, but that we are liberators. Hopefully, no overzealous soldier will make the mistake of raising our flag again. :D

I think there's still fighting going on in and around Basra, dunno if it's truly liberated.

Davros talked about it in Donut's Excellent Speach thread.

Some GI's got over zealous and raised a US flag, but that's issue has been addressed from on high, and while we shouldn't have seen it at all, we won't be seeing it anymore. ;)
