Saw this on the BBC about 45 mins ago. Apparently a Kuwaiti Patriot missile shot down an Iraqi missile. Get this - the Iraqi missile was aimed at an oil facility 40 miles *south* of Kuwait City. From Kuwait City to the Iraqi border it's another 140 or so miles. That puts the range of the missile that Iraq launched at around 180 miles or so.
Note that the Iraqis are limited to a max range of 150 miles for their missiles. Why am I not surprised?? It would be interesting to see what other stuff that Saddam claims he doesn't have will turn up over the next few days. |
But how far did the Missile get before it was blown up?
Did it actually go over the 150 mile range? If It didn’t I wouldn’t trust anything the Military is releasing to journalist. The military have a very tight control over what is released for a reason. Those who control what the media says will be able to manipulate how this conflict is presented. |

You wouldn't trust what the military released to journalist even if their scientists could prove without a doubt that this missile circled the moon, NASA provided the video and tactical data, and the missile's re-entry was simultaneously captured on film by independent film makers from every country on the planet before the missile closed in on it's target.
