The 48 hours for Saddam and his sons to leave is over. I don't think anyone thought they would, but now it is over, and.... it is just beginning.

I pray for them all.

It's a shame that the only real people that will suffer from this will be innocent Iraqi citizens.

I don't see how the 'coalition' plan on removing Saddam without all out destruction of Baghdad and most of Iraq in the process.

TheCrimsomBlade 03-19-2003 08:09 PM

Saddam was a very bad man! I wonder if he heard the bullit that got him?
Say hi to Bhaal for me. He's the one with the sword stuck in his ear and the funny look on his face.

Actually US, UK, and Australian soldiers and their families will suffer because soldiers will die, and that's the tip of the coalition iceburg regarding suffering regarding the individuals involved. ;)

I'm not downplaying Iraqi suffering at all, some innocent civilians will pay part of Saddam's debt because he wouldn't do what he should have, could have, and actually agreed to do. :(

No question, there will be suffering on both sides for years to come.

I feel sorrow for the Iraqi people as a whole. They have no choice, they couldn't decide where they were born. Even if they had the means to leave Iraq, they have no where to go. They will pay the ultimate price, whether they support Saddam (and I believe most don't) or not.

It is a tragedy that it has come to this.

I do feel for them, too. That's why I said I pray for them all.

It is a tragedy that it came to this, but I look to the bright future of the Iraqi people for comfort.

I have to wonder how many people cried at the suffering every single day for year's before America got this whole thing going at the UN.

I would be lying if I said I had. Shame really but out of mind out of sight is a typical human reality. I don't recall many people protesting for Sadam to stop killing, torturing, abusing his people before this WoMD conversation taking place.

Make no mistake, I hope for none to very small death even if it is wishful thinking

Yeah, thats a sad thing too, that war is needed to improve the lives of those under an evil dictator.

Sir Goulum 03-19-2003 10:03 PM

It is a very sad thing for it to come to this...I bet if Bush would have had patience, this could have been worked out peacefully....

I disagree. Again I ask, where do all the anti-war folks plan on drawing the line? 20 years? 100 resolutions? What?
