If it is true that Iraq has Nuc/Bio/Chem weapons and no trace has been found of them it is possible Saddam will use them on our young soldiers if a war breaks out.

A report on 60 Minutes today said that our soldiers are not trained sufficiently and that their equipment is mostly close to useless. It also has been stated by soldiers that they are fearful of such an attack. How can they possibly fight confidently in such an environment? Soldiers call NBC (Nuclear/Biological/Chemical) No Body Cares.

It was a sobering segment. Our fighting forces deserve better.

Boy! Something must have changed! We used to train relgiously with our NBC gear! During Desert Storm we lived in it for three days!!! I have to admit that it doesn't sound good. Somebody had better get a handle on that!

I actually trained with some NBC gear while in the Marines right before Desert Shield. It certainly wasn't very comfortable and you really couldn't see much outside the suit.

I could smell tear gas leaking through the gas mask too. Scary!

I don't see how anyone could wear a clunky piece of covering out in a searing desert and expect to accomplish anything.

60 mins did a great job though covering this issue. Despite Pentagon reasurances, I seriously doubt the effectiveness of NBC equipment in the field.
