Brazil: Reasonable stable ecomony; willing to take in latin american dictators and was agreeable to hiding mysterious german gold-merchants arriving in U-boats; and it has lots of beaches. Hmmmmmm?

Can someone tell me what a country has to gain by taking in unpopular and hunted Dictators?

I dont know, but countries like Libya don't have much to lose in the first place. And they take whatever chance they get to annoy the big satan. Some countries do it for money. A guy like Saddam must be so rich, he could be a boost for any economy.

I think that the surrounding countries do not want another war and are willing to try anything (like taking in Saddam) if they think it will avoid one.
