hey everyone, is underdark hard to get out of? i dont have much time to play and i would prefer to skip all the quests (if possible) and just leave, is there a way to do this? if there is not can someone tell me what the "exit-quest" is? thanks. (i wanna leave right away cuz if i wanna come back i can dimension-door back in [thats means CLUA Console but dimension-door sounds cooler] ). i bet sir exxon will be the first to post here so thanks in advance (he allways seems to post on all my questions lol)

I am sorry to disappoint you but I am not Sir Exxon! :D
As for the underdark the quickest way is SPOILER AHEAD . . . . . . . . .Go to the Deep Gnome village to the North. Do their quest Take the lightstone as reward and head for the part of the map that says "Dark Cave" After the dark cave go to the Drow City Do excactly as the Drow tell you adding a little of common sense! Escape. You will be missing some good items and lots of exp however. |
You have to do the major underdark quest (adalons one) to leave. Or i think you an fight out through the kua-toa city, but Im not sure if the door can be opened without adalon.

ok thanks, but what items am i missing? If i used the CLUA console to warp back in, could i do all the quests that i missed?

You'll be missing most artifact pieces,a good armor,a good halberd and some other but I can't recall now!
I don't know about the "dimension door".Never used that. |
what do you mean artifact pieces? you mean cromwell pieces or what

Ways to leave the Underdark:
1) Perform Adalon's quest (the quick way). After talking to Adalon, go to Ust Natha, kill everything that gets in your way, and return what Adalon wants. Once Adalon is happy, you will be transported to the Exit. This will prevent you from getting any EXP or items from the Ust Natha quests. 2) Perform Adalon's quest (the long way). Do all the Ust Natha quests, and eventually you can obtain what Adalon wants. Once Adalon is happy, you will be transported to the Exit. 3) Do some of the Ust Natha quests, and then kill the Matron Mother Ardulace. This will break the seal on the Exit doors, and then you can go to the Western Tunnels (NOT marked on your map) and make your way to the Exit. 4) Kill Adalon. You will loot a scroll that will break the seal on the Exit doors, and you can then leave as described above. 5) Have a high Charisma. After talking to Adalon, you can make your way to the Exit, and convince the Drow guarding the doors to open them and let you through. This will prevent your getting any items or EXP from any remaining Ust Natha quests. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All non-essential Underdark quests, such as the Eastern Tunnels, the Southern Tunnels, the Imprisonment crystal, Vithal the Mage, the Kao-Toa Prince, and the Demogorgon statue can be left until later: Simply return to the Underdark via the path you used to escape. |
ahh thank you! if i take choice 3.(Do some of the Ust Natha quests, and then kill the Matron Mother Ardulace. This will break the seal on the Exit doors, and then you can go to the Western Tunnels (NOT marked on your map) and make your way to the Exit.), what quests should i do and what items can i get that way? i dont want to do something too long but i want to be able to come back and do the quests with a lot of exp. should i take choice 3 or should i do that long way? i want good exp and items but i dont want to take too long.. is there any way to do this?

Between Options #2 and #3, I would definitely take #2. By the time you're in a position to kill the Matron Mother, you're almost done with the Ust Natha quests anyway--so you might as well take another 5 minutes and return what Adalon wants. I only made #3 a separate entry to point out that it's possible to leave the Underdark without visting Adalon again, as long as the Matron Mother is dead.
If it's items you're after, be sure to talk to some of the Drow standing around just inside the entrance to Ust Natha. 3 of them are merchants. (I missed them on my first game, because they were just labeled "Drow.") As far as time is concerned, I did a Speed Run in my last game, and did: Athkatla--Brynnlaw--Spellhold--Brynnlaw revisited--Saughain City--Underdark--Athkatla again, without sleeping ONCE. We didn't get Fatigued until right after we left the Underdark Exit. I used Option 2. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Note to those who know: Even after leaving the Underdark, it's possible to return to Ust Natha, and even do one of the subquests there: The one involving the rope. |
thanks a WHOLE bunch. are there any quest realted items or something? i think ill do option 2 and so all the quests. thanks for the help, i really appreciate it. im trying to get my sorcerer the best he can be (not like the army) so ill get more exp and just wait. i just want to do so much stuff back in athkatla.. im so anxious to leave!! lol. i bet Morul is worried sick about me...
