<font color = lightgreen>The problem is that they didn't cut anything. Nearly every politician in Washington will talk a lot about wanting to reduce spending but no politician actually reduces spending. Reducing spending on programs like Medicaid, Social Security, and/or education would come back in next year's election campaign as "a politician who doesn't care about the sick, the elderly, or children"...and every politician's goal--their only goal--is to win reelection, not fight for their consituents or do what is right for the country.</font>
