OTTAWA -- After stomping on U.S. President George W. Bush, Liberal MP Carolyn Parrish has taken a few kicks at Prime Minister Paul Martin. The outspoken MP -- who has made a habit of Bush-bashing -- was filmed this week for the comedy show This Hour Has 22 Minutes.

During the clip, Parrish is seen stomping a Bush figurine and in outtakes of the video she treats it as a voodoo doll, poking it in the head, where the Liberal MP says it would do "the least damage."

Parrish refused to apologize for taking part in the skit, which was taped Tuesday in her office.

She also took the opportunity created by the furor to take shots at her own leader. Sourcre

No one ever said that a high degree of common sense was a prerequisite for holding public office.
So she doesn't like Bush or Martin; she doesn't have to. However, she might want to reconsider poking effigies with pins like voodoo dolls because that shows a lack of professionalism. *shrug*

Carolyn Parrish is an embarassment to Canada and I hope she dissappears into whatever hole it was that she crawled out of.

While I like her Bush-bashing, It's undeniable that her behaviour was inappropriate. She's now been expelled from the Liberal cacus, which she was pretty much asking for.

I saw a quote on this in the paper this morning. It is from Roger Gallaway, who is an MP in the same party. He said, "It's a pathetic spectacle that someone would behave in this fashion. I would expect more from infants. It's rotten timing... and I would hope that she would consider mending her ways." He went on to say that he wasn't in favour of removing her because, "this place [I would assume he's referring to Parliament] allows all kinds of bizarre and stupid behaviour. Stupidity is a defence here."

Regardless of how she thinks of a neighbouring head of state, she needs to be more tactful and less inflammatory in her criticism. Does she wonder why she's never gone anywhere in her party? She can't keep her diarrhea-mouth shut, even when it is clearly in the best interests of herself, her political party, and arguably her country.

Anyway, she's a loose cannon, and everything she says and does should not be taken seriously (unless by some miracle she resigns).

Oh, I get it, she's the Cynthia McKenny(spelling?) of the Canadian Parliament.
