I'm looking to find any other website with this same story, anyone that does, please post the URL here. Thanks!

It's kinda smart to do this too. Because I expect the terrorists have something planned for June 30th, so this will atleast ruin their longterm plans if they had any, and I'm SURE they did.

The handover of power in Iraq is to be brought forward to today.

A formal announcement will be made later today, Tony Blair said.

The informal announcement was made by Iraq's foreign minister Hoshyar Zebari.

The handover of power to an interim Iraqi government was supposed to take place on June 30.

Mr Zebari said the deteriorating security situation in the country was one of the reasons why the date had been brought forward.

"We will challenge these elements in Iraq, the anti-democratic elements, by even bringing the handover of sovereignty before June 30 as a sign we are ready for it," he said.

The question is... hand over power to who ? It's obvious that the troops can't leave, the country will fall into anarchy once the last soldier is gone. And the one with the task to rule Iraq.... is he appointed by the white house, or does he have the support of the people ? If it's an American puppet, you're only kidding yourself if you think this man will sit on his throne very long.

I agree with Johnny on this, it does depend on who the power is given to. If it is handed down to the wrong person, it'll just be Vietnam all over again, once we live, the country will fall into chaos.

They are handing it over to the guy that the UN approved to be the interim leader untill elections can be worked out...wich is scheduled for tha fall I believe but may take longer since the people still need a lot of ..de-programming.

The US troops and their commanders will stay in place, however the Administration of the nation (including its oil supplies) will be done by civilian Iraqi's. (so much for Bush stealing their oil) They have US consultants in place to assist the Iraqi's untill they are trained and understand the various complexities of their position....remember..these people have no experience in governing themselves.</font>

I think it's too good to be true.

But it's there... It's on paper, and it's real...

Also, Neal Boortz mentioned it in his "Neal's Nuze" column.
