The occupation of Iraq has helped al-Qaeda recruit more members, according to the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies.
The influential group's annual report says the network has reconstituted itself after losing its Afghan base. It adds that Osama Bin Laden's followers have set their sights on attacking the US and its close allies. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3746205.stm Obviously a negative effect of the war in Iraq. [ 05-25-2004, 03:03 PM: Message edited by: pritchke ] |
Nah, it just makes for a more interesting game of whack-a-mole.

the funny thing is... some people need a newspaper to tell you this.
come on, it was obvious. we all knew from day one of the war that the terrorist were going to unite if we kept pushing them... people need to think with their heads, not with the Media Host's [ 05-25-2004, 05:48 PM: Message edited by: promethius9594 ] |

Obviously the people in charge of the War on Terrorism needed a newspaper to tell them. Remember the administration said the war on Iraq was part of the war on terrorism, unless there goals are opposite of what I thought they were they have done a poor ass job fighting and eliminating terrorism. Europe's civilian population will probably take the worst of this newly created terrorism, next to the Iraqi's. [ 05-25-2004, 05:08 PM: Message edited by: pritchke ] |
Well, maybe the people running the War on Terrorism thought that our side of the field would unite as well. Apparently, it's only the terrorists who are capable of putting aside differences long enough to get something done. Oh well, that's what you get when you play on a team of spoiled prima donna first-worlders.

Oh TL, war on terrorism ok, I think we're all united on this, I think our different secret services work well together, we even had the CIA make one of our airport close; on the other hand occupying foreign countries for dubious reasons, well, hard to unite on this one, sorry.

and youre insulted that i think the media tries to control the popular opinion? how is that insulting? do you SUPPORT people waiting for the media to tell you something before you think it? is that how i offended you? |
okay, i think we should get one thing straight... i think, by nature of people being here that they want to mull things over, thats good.
i also HATE the media. all of em. even rush limbaugh (the most uber conservative). they all put their spin on things. THAT is what i am getting at. you, being here, obviously are thinking about things instead of just accepting them. but the average world citizen accepts at face value many reports that are horribly biased. im sorry for any offense... i'll go back and reedit the post to be more like i want it to come off |
You didn't have to do that promethius9594, it was just a small misunderstanding. But thanks just the same. I see were you are coming from now in regards to the media.
