Wow, we are still discovering planets in our Solar System. Very cool, I cannot wait to get confirmation, see an image and get an idea of it's orbit.

Astronomers have detected what could be the Solar System's 10th planet.
Found further away than other planets by the recently launched Spitzer Space Telescope, it has been called Sedna after the Inuit goddess of the ocean.

Observations show it is about 2,000 km across and it may even be larger than Pluto, which is 2,250 km across.

There is likely to be debate about whether it qualifies as a true planet, but some astronomers are already saying it re-defines the Solar System.

The Hubble Space Telescope has also seen it.

Details will be announced by the US space agency Nasa later on Monday.

The real question is, does it have natural resources we can exploit

Nah, the real question is; does it have WoMD?

This is the third time in 6 or 7 years I've heard about "another" planet. What are there now, 11? Is there a clearinghouse somewhere for this sort of info?

Sounds like a kick-ass debate...

I vote that several trillion dollars should be immediately spent by a 'coalition' of willing governments to examine the possible benefits and threats that this potential planet could pose to civilized society. Does it really matter, even if it is another planet? Study it. Take pictures, plan a satellite to send hurtling into the depths of space.
