Well animals are worth less than a human. We have been taugt that for ages. ;) Changing the way we describe our relationship wouldn't change much IMO. However, it could be a first step towards a more humane (animane? ;) ) research community and a tougher treatent of animal abuse in general.

The ethical boards around the world are starting to bash some thickheaded researchers when it comes to research though. But still there are several experiments tha are unnecessarily cruel towards animals. Injecting a oocyte with a GFP gene to give a glowing bunny isn't exactly my idea of important science. :rolleyes:
