In my party I have me (Ranger), Minsc, Jaheira, Viconia, Aerie, and Yoshimo. I am going to drop Yoshi for Imoen once i get her out of Spellhold. Is there any NPC that I should add to my party, or get rid of?

Actually, you have a pretty good party going.

You got a cleric/mage, great for those Sequencer Spells.

You have a Druid who makes a great tank.

You have another cleric. Healing spells will never be at a loss in your group, let's just say.

Not to mention, I could give a big spoiler, so scroll down if you want to be spoiled.

Yoshimo is really working for Irenicus, so you won't have to drop him at all, he'll just drop out at a certain moment.

Not a bad party, but not practical at all. From past experience Viconia, Jaheria and Aerie fight, A LOT. You'll probably loose Aerie because she gets pissed off easily. I would get rid of Aerie and Jaheria. Pick up, oh no wait. Edwin and Minsc fight, physically. Hmmm. Cernd... and either Korgan or Natalia, or whatever her name is. Crap I cant remember. Go for a straight team, no Multiing. Dualing is ok, but it takes a while to level up.

you are very cleric-heavy. You have all three romance choices, each of which is a pretty good cleric in her own right. I would probably drop Viconia, since it isn't likely you're romancing her, and replace her with Valygar, Keldorn, or another tank. You might even want Jan for a little extra spellcasting power if you're not the melee type.

However, ANY PARTY THAT DOESN'T WANT TO KILL EACH OTHER WILL WORK!!! ANY PARTY!!!!!

That said, make your own decision. I'm sure you'll do fine with your current party. Just as a little advice, bring a lot of spell scrolls for Imoen to scribe. She is greatly lacking when you pick her up, and the experience really helps, since you will likely be much higher level than her and will want to get XP as fast as possible.

Personally, I've never had a problem with Aerie, Jaheira, and Viconia wanting to 'leave' because of someone else.

The real problem anyone will have is having Keldorn and Viconia in the same party.

my party (which works great) is me (sorcerer), Minsc, Jahiera, Anomen, a barbarian i made, and nalia. Barbarians make GREAT tanks becuase mine is about the same lvl as my other fighters but has about 50 more HP than them.

I would definitely drop Viconia and swap in Jan. Definitely.

You say you want to drop Yoshimo for Imoen...all well and good, but Imoen just doesn't have the Thieving skills required to really support a party: She doesn't even have 100% Find Traps. Jan is an excellent Thief, especially with his special gear, and a darn good backup Mage as well. It doesn't matter if he's Multiclassed, you only need one Single- or Dual- Mage anyway, and the combination of Jan & Aerie softening up baddies for Imoen to kill (while Jahiera's casting Insect Plague) is a lethal one.

Aerie is enough Cleric, as Multiclassed Clerics get access to their top spells not long after true Clerics do, meaning Viconia isn't that great an asset.

While I had occasion to miss the three theif levels that got STOLEN from me between BG1 and BG2, Imoens skills are more than adequate to get through the game. By the end all but the most powerful traps are a mere annoyance anyway.

Plus (regarding Imoen), there are some good + items to thieving skills out there that you can use to build her up to par. Sure, she won't be the best thief possible, but she can get you by.

Well, let's just say that "I heart Thieving skills."

My Jan has well over 100% in all the skills, permanent True Sight, quintuple Backstabs with Angurvadal or Staff of the Magi, and when he's wearing his Backstabbing setup, the same AC as my Tank, backed up by his Stoneskin and Mirror Images. Disadvantages: No Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting. Oh, darn. Guess I'll have to cast Dragon's Breath instead.....
