It's so hard to go back once you've come back home.

I'm can't doubt that it is sacrificially hard, but reading the story shows that while NONE have actually been listed as AWOL, only 8 out of 3,000 are unaccounted for at this time.

Quote:

In the first five days of return flights starting October 12, 28 people didn't show up, Burlas said. After tracking them down, it was learned that 20 had permission or some reason. The other eight were unaccounted for, as were eight who also missed flights in the last five days.

Notice the negativity of the headline. Rather that saying "Home leave for GIs serving in Iraq a success" - they imply that once home the troops are deserting.

The liberal press at its best

Yeah, sorry for that everyone. My bad. I got duped by the media. On further reading, there were not a mass AWOL but on a smaller scale like 8ish yet even those will probably be accounted for.

Isn't this what you call "A tempest in a teacup"?
