I didn't catch it, but let me see if I can paraphrase.

Oops...

More of the same. Lots of "confidence" and "belief". I'll take Knowing over those anyday.

Yes - but at least TB is convinced that history will vindicate him

I know it was probably written by a team of speachwriters but it WAS a very good speach and very well delivered.

I wonder how bush would go standing up in a British parliment and having to cope with answering to an angry oppistion?

I think TB is known for writing his own speeches.

YOur second point is GREAT. In America, the politicians caught up to the press and learned how to control them about 20 years ago. Bush never fields a question that is not pre-screened. He knows who, and in what order, will be asking questions at a televised press conference. Politics is a managed show in the US.

In Parliament, they still shout each other down like angry schoolboys. I love it. I really would feel much better about our system if we had that here. Besides, it makes the review and attack of TB's decision MUCH more interesting than some boring Senate hearings or other typical US blah blah.

Yeah, it's something we have in our political system. It's called accountability ;)
