well the night before last I was trying to write some deep and meaningful poetry..and I failed, so instead I wrote this silly one ;)

TO AN ELEPHANT

How mighty is such a beast,
It eats 10 tonnes, quite a feast.
With ears so large its not hard to hear,
Those who sneak up from the rear.

Coloured grey with two big tusks,
It's only invisible after dusk.
With such a long and bending trunk,
It's hard to think it's never shrunk.

They say an elephant never forgets,
How good that would make him at placing bets.
He's not a creature of grace or fun,
His favourite food's a sticky bun!
