Mom and I went and plopped down the old credit card for PS2 this weekend. Just couldn't pass up the $199 price tag! (Really... She twisted my arm... HONEST!) I bought Baldurs Gate: Dark Allaince for $30 at the local flea market (still in the orginally wrapper!) and my daughter and me have been playing it ever since. I think it's pretty cool, but not like the CRPG. What does everyone else think?

it doesn't take up hard drive space so it has to be cool...right people...it has to be cool...and if mom doesn't like it well you just let me know i'll "help her see the light"

I have played it all the way through, thought it was very short and not that difficult, apart from bits in the Thieves Guild. Anyone who has done that will know what I mean.

However you can import your character and build up the experience to get a better lever, but no variety in the way you play and very very linear.

It is nothing like the PC version of BG though, you have to have the character they pick for you, you cannot make your own and you only have a choice of three. It reminds me of and plays like a more sophisticated Diablo for the Playstation, if anyone has ever played that. A up market version of Tomb Raider.

I am playing Devil may Cry for the Playstation 2 at the moment and I am well impressed.

Cheers

It was an okay game. I liked that it had the same narrator-- cool bit of continuity. Some nice graphics... I kept running around in the water. Overall, though, not too impressive. No real options that can affect the story. A good rental, but not-so-good purchase.

this game is the only reason i want a PS2, I know people have said it's crap, but i still wish to play it for my self.

It's been a great game for a 7 year old! She's really enjoyed playing it with me. She has watched me play all the BG games on my computer and always wants to play herself. But BG is hard to play for one so young. Just too many options. This is really more her speed. And Dads been enjoying it too.
