Seriously... this is the end...

Bahamut 05-08-2002 01:12 PM

Oh God.. how utterly pathetic.. but this is what I believe in. that's what they believe in... I live by my motto... oh well... just understand them..

Sigmar 05-08-2002 02:13 PM

I'm sorry but I laughed at this, I mean no disrespect to the horrible events of September the 11th in any way, no. My laughter is directed against the idiots who made this petition and anyone who signed it! OMG how can someone be so idiotic as to connect the title of a almost 50 year old book with the events that occured a little over 8 months ago. Honestly did you ever think of the events when you heard of the title, no I doubt you did.
That was pointless and uneccesary criticism on their part and if anything they are the ones who are going to stir up the emotions that many people felt on the day again. Fools.

Charean 05-08-2002 02:20 PM

That is truly pathetic.

Thoran 05-08-2002 02:32 PM

sigh,I'd like to talk to the guys who started this and get some sort of a feel where where their brains are at... this is soo "out there" that I can only imagine that they're a bunch of flakes.

Horatio 05-08-2002 02:48 PM

That really is stupid. What digs at me is, did no one point this out to him? And if so, why did he refuse to change it?

Sir Kenyth 05-08-2002 03:02 PM

Ignorance can be deadly when combined with political correctness. Another example is the word "niggardly". This word has a completely different meaning than the racial slur and has been around since the 14th century. It doesn't even have roots in the same language. The racial slur has roots from the latin "niger" which literally means the color black. "Niggardly" is believed to have roots in Norse. It means miserly. Regardless, people have been fired over the use of this word because it was heard as a racial slur! What's worse is most people won't believe the true definition if you told them. The "N" word similarity is just too strong to overcome easily and people hear what they want to hear.

Sunden 05-08-2002 03:23 PM

Next they'll be wanting to change 'return of the King' because they feel it insults elvis fans!

Horatio 05-08-2002 03:25 PM

Nice one, Sunden, welcome to IW BTW
