It's come to my attention that the Cafe will be a year old in June and after some recent problems, I posted the following in the Cafe but want to make it available for longer than a day or two, which is sometimes the life expectancy of a Cafe thread! [img]smile.gif[/img]

<H3><font color="pink">Let's remember that we are hear to TALK not just post any old piece of 'spam' and tons of smileys. I have not been very tough on the guidelines and have allowed alot to go by in the name of fun and camaraderie, but Z noticed it and I've seen far too many NEW threads be started in just ONE day, so I'd like all of us to be more aware that this place is great for talking and dropping in for a quick howdy, but not for testing sigs and posting junk, ok?

I created this Cafe nearly a year ago for the kinds of things that just don't warrant a whole thread of their own and if put someplace in existing threads might be labeled 'spam' but are in reality just conversations btwn friends and people getting to know each other.
It's a place to catch up with someone on how their family is or if they bought a new car or tell us about your day. Coffee shop stuff. Sitting in a friends kitchen stuff.

It is NOT there for increasing your post counts or to be an excuse for racing for ranks! It is there for communication and fun. Please let's remember that, because if we can't, the Cafe may become a nothing more than a piece of IW history and that would be a shame.

We've had one thread locked for spamming and an offensive racial joke. This was the first time, in my recollection, that any Cafe thread had to be closed for any reason and I'm not happy to see it. So I am going to ask us to be more aware of what we post.

I think this is a fantastic group of people who post here, I love seeing how you all are and what the weather's like, if you've had a good day at work or tests at school. I love getting hints on games, recipes and ideas for barbecues or stories about your kids or siblings or joking around and feeling like family. I want us to keep being able to do that for a long time.

Ironworks is a special place and Ziroc allowed the Cafe almost a year ago despite the potential for it to be abused in many ways and so far we've always done well and enjoyed ourselves. We've even been a place where great news hits first, like when Elif's baby was born. I'm proud of the Cafe and pleased to be part of it in the grander scheme of things known as Ironworks. Let's keep it going for a long time! :D </font></H3>

<font color=Orange>Wanna know what Cloudy? I totally agree with ya! And so should everyone else! The Cafe is for stuff like 'Hi how was Scorpion King?' and not like 'WARNING! THIS IS SPAMMY CENTRAL!'. I was a little wild in one Cafe thread, and I will try to tone it down a tad!</font>

Lioness, no worries! Your conversations are fine- silly, fun and *whispers* 'zany' is not necessarily spam, dear! And if it WAS, you'd have heard about it sooner! :D

As long as Spam stays halfway comprehensible and isn't just something like replying "Indeed" to another two pages long post I've usually got no problems with it [img]smile.gif[/img]

I really could never be bothered to post on Cloudy's Cafe. But I might check it out.
