Iv'e just been going through my bag of holding, and noticed something that I found in the Shade Lords place next to Mazzy's cell, Tobelthans (Sorry about the spelling) journal, and I realised I only have one half, is their anything to this, if so what ??

It's a part of the Ranger Stronghold quest(s). I don't know if you ever find the Second half, or even why they left the First half out for everyone to find. I actually did find that little hidden "cache" the journal talks about, but there's nothing there unless you're a Ranger.

I believe this item is only important when you're going for the ranger stronghold

If you go a little down from the spot you kill the Shade Lord, there will be a rock, and inside will be the second half of the note. I don't remember if it only appears if you're a ranger and doing the ranger stronghold quest, though.
