Alright, my Internet Explorer has died. I cannot access "My Computer" or any pages from my own computer, currently I'm using my dad's to get here and write this.

I have tried:

Reinstalling IE 6.0
Clearing my cache
Checking for virusses

And I've managed to find out that something else than IE 6.0 is causing it. What really sucks is that I have no idea what program it is...

I might not be around much until I get this crap fixed.

Does ANYONE have ANY idea what might be causing these problems? I would REALLY appreciate ANY help.

Sometimes, when I experience difficulty with any program, such as Explorer, I will CTRL+ALT+DEL to see what items are currently running. Sometimes, an item will say..."Not responding", and I shut it out. If that does not apply nor help, then I start turning items off that I know are not Windows Vital (Meaning the PC shuts down if you stop its operation). It always works for me, though I do not know your particular situation as to what caused it. Let me know if nothing I said helped.
I can ask the help desk here at work before they go home tonight.

Meh, never mind it. I downloaded Opera to serve as my browser instead

I had windows 2000 until today, it started freezing up all the time so I deleteed it and installed good old Win98, ahh so much better, I can play all my old games again, use my printer and I still havn't gotten the Blue screen... yet. The only bad thing is I lost all my Email addresses and old mail... oh well.

I've had no troubles with ME or IE6.0 since I've installed them.I got a lot of grief from Netscape, and Opera had too many ads cluttering up the screen.
The suggestion of trying to isolate the defective software is a good one. It will kill a part of your weekend though. You should at least find out what the bad software is.

Hmm... have you installed any new software lately? I've had a few problems at times (software incompatibility or whatever it's called), some of which were pretty annoying and unpleasant... (such as when I installed some software for my mouse and I stopped being able to shut down... it always restarted...). *shrug*

The latest thing I did was to update my Windows Media Player. The last thing I installed was almost a week ago. Being Dungeon Siege.
