I'm getting that 30-seconds thing with almost every page I open at the moment :( can't it be switched off somehow, it's heavily annoying :(

I have no answers for you, I don't seem to have this problem...I use IE 5.something I think.

I thought this thread would be about the damnable way that this forum keeps sucking up huge quantities of my free time!!

Does Refresh not do any good?
Once, I received an error on another website that told me that I was trying to download the site faster than the server could keep up, and that I needed to do this or that...I don't remember now what, but I simply hit refresh and it was fine.

Yeah the whole forum seems to be really slow to load at the moment, like 30 seconds to a minute on some pages!
ALso sometimes it stops loading after the first few posts, but if I keep hitting refresh I can eventually see all the posts on the page. So yeah, it is pretty annoying, I thought the new server was gonna make things better?

No complaints here at the moment... Using Internet Explorer 5.5 I think, btw.

Hehe I don't think it's anything to do with the browser Groj. Ziroc seems to have set a maximum execution time on requests to the server of 30 seconds and if this time is exceeded, the connection is terminated and the page stops loading. You have to keep hitting refresh cos slowly the page is transferred to your cache so eventually the whole page will be loaded within 30 secs. I assume because you are using cable or whatever, it doesn't take so long for you to download the info so you can get all the posts down with less than 30 secs execution time. I've only got a modem though :(

Yups, I'm using cable alright. And even though it's Monday evening, normally the evening the cable company does their maintenance tonight, making my connection a pain, but I still haven't had any serious problems over here.

Not only threads crash when loading. Some areas of the boards, like the RP forum, do too. Anyone got a good solution?
