where is that tennis ball? That is the question I ask you. No not neccesarily you but others.
I never had the ball and you certainly never gave it back to me.
So where is that ball now?
I stand in the centre of my court, waiting gazing and waiting.
I do all the running, I do all the work.
The hurt is always in my heart
and yet you return no affections
and I don't think I expect any now...
I still wait just like before
as I am waiting now,
and forever more...
perpetual is my love
but what does it matter?
Love can not be forged, it is a matter of the heart
so I wait and linger all alone
under the stars and gazing at the moon
I know that ball will never fly back....
but if it does I will be here
Always giving
everything
and never receiving
anything
that is the story of my life
I feel like dropping the racket on the floor
not with a bang
but quietly and silently
so not to disturb you
and walk away....

What are you trying to say Avatar? Is this a love poem, are you having troubles with your relationship, whats wrong exactly? (before I jump to any conclusions)

I don't know about all that heart stuff, but your tennis ball is hanging in my garage so that I don't park my car in too far.

The ball is out of bounce, smashed to the paving.
Did you hold it to hard? Did you not play enough?
Did you look upon it? Glancing your opponent in the double match?
Why the heavens did I play the ball? Well another game is comming up,
hold that racket firm. Stay on your feet, donīt let the ball get lost.

Now did or didnīt you play that ball. Do I steel feel that soft touch to my hand? Do I still feel like like I played and lost even though the ball never took flight?
All these question burning your heart, what is true what is false?
Never loose that ball, but how did you know which ball to stop or which to break?
Whick ball will bounce back, which will get caught by the net, not even facing your opponent?

You wield your racket as a heroe, standing alone in the field, and that is your dome. You are burning, the other hardly sweating. The natch is over by far. You want a rematch, you lost. The others are walking away, talking about next to come, and what has been.

The court is empty, no more balls to play. Only you and the net that caught you one last time this match. Head for the showers, the game is over, long live the game. Always tomorrow, if you find a new ball to play...

Sorry Avatar, I could only answer you this way being intoxicated as I am..

I don't think that I understand this thread. Avatar, are you having heartaches? Or is this just something that came to you. Like Dreamer said, glad you're back.

And yet it is you Wolfgir that has answered my post fully... no offense to my other friends....

I have let the racket go and it drops gently on the floor
I nolonger stand waiting in the court
I have walked silently away
And my heart is more weary
for this game is not for the naive
not for he romantics
and not for people like me
I am content in watching now
maybe I'll learn
but under the stars that twinckle
and beneath the shining moon
I feel all alone
and darkness surrounds me once more
like a blanket that stretches to the horizon

alone afterall
