Yeah, I think so too, unfortuantly. I'd love another BG-game. Though Neverwinter Nights soon comes to Norway, so I guess I'll have to satisfy with that.

Yeah, but NWN is more like hack'n'slay stuff, right? I'd love to have anothr game which creates that special feeling and atmosphere like BG2 did.

I think thet is possible whitwout teh same stryline, maby you could have the same caracters in other quests, for ex the life after you refused to be a god, or the lifeof your friens whit you a god halpping them... souds cool

It could be done, though logically it would have to be centered around someone else in that same universe--your character can't go much higher than being offered godhood, after all. ;)

The problem is that while all the tools to develop a BG III are now available, there is a great deal of time spent in developing new art, plot, dialog, quests, concept, voice casting, etc. Figure at least 18 months, since Bioware is also spending most of its resources on LucasArts' new Star Wars CRPG. You can't just hire new people and throw them at a big name game. -Well, you *could,* but the results wouldn't be up to Bioware's standards. :D There have been two or three lookalikes I'm aware of--Gorasul (in particular), Evil Islands, etc. Neither of that pair came close to the atmosphere, variety, game balance or intelligence of the original.

If it's going to be done on the 2D engine, it will have to be done soon.
