I'm leaving this afternoon to go to Louisiana this weekend for Mardi Gras...unfortunately, not the one in New Orleans, but the one in my home town in Monroe. It's a pretty big celebration nonetheless...one huge tailgate party we go to right on the parade route. We have friends from South Louisiana that come up and set up "camp" there and we'll be out there pretty much the entire day.
Anyway, just a heads up that I will check periodically this weekend from Louisiana, but don't expect me around too much. ;) Cheers, |

Have fun Saz! Don't do anything I wouldn't do! Never mind forget that. You wouldn't have any fun at all that way... ;)

It's going to be freaking cold out there, though, so I hope there are some people jumping around! I'll probably be hanging out close to the grills, pumping myself with antifreeze ;) :D -Saz |
We took a trip to Louisiana last weekend. Just to Shreveport/Bossier City. It was pretty fun.
Louisiana has some of the friendlist people I have ever meet. Well, Shreveport did anyway. Dont know about the rest of the state. Well have fun Saz! Be safe. |

Shreveport and Bossier are kind of like Monroe where I'm from, only a bit bigger. North and South Louisiana are two different worlds. South Louisiana, actually, is like a whole other planet! A lot of French culture down there. Louisiana for the most part has a well-deserved reputation of being a "party state." Anyway, Shreveport, Bossier, and Monroe are in the north part of the state (the piney woods area) and South Louisiana is the *swamp* part of the state. Well, marsh, at least...lot of wetlands. Nah, what am I talking about, it *is* a swamp! LOL Lot of alligators and mosquitos and a lot of hunting and fishing. Cheers, |

Actually North Louisiana was like a whole diffrent planet too! Well too me, but I have not been to that many places. Hehe.
But really, you could almost "feel" somthing diffrent as soon as you crossed the state line. Really felt diffrent. And too answer your question, no we did not go gambling, hehe. We did see them though. And that awfull smelling plant you pass to get to them. Ack. |

Logging in tonight from a very chilly Louisiana...guess I better get to bed soon to be in form for bead-catching tomorrow night (who am I kidding, I'll be so plotzed I'll be lucky if I can stand properly, LOL!) -Sazerac |
