For those of you that know me well this is very out of character. But I have been wondering...

What do you think the condistion of bin Laden is?

Do you think he is still alive, or dead? He had health problems. Somthing to do with his kindey. All that hectic life style may have got the beter of him by now.

There was a picture roaming around on TV of him. He looked very bad. Really pale and it looked like he lost an arm. Also there was this leter on TV from a person that e-mailed the show I was watching and the person said she noticed he was not wearing a turbon (sp) and was wearing some kind of cap thingy. If he did lose an arm he could have been wearing that too keep heat in his body.

On another note, do you think he is still in Afghanastan? There has been rumor of him going into Pakistan.

Now before you reply keep these rules in mind:

1) Keep it on topic, I dont want to go come into this thread tomrorw and read posts on somthing else.

2) No flaming. If you follow rule 1, then I dont think there are too many ways to flame ones opionon of this.

3) Follow rules 1 and 2

Well as far as I heard we dont know. But we think he is dead, and I honestly think so too. With his pre historic technology that he uses hehe, I think he couldnt survive. Unless some goverment or special service is protecting him... In any case, I think we got it all under control.

WOLFGIR 02-01-2002 05:15 AM

Guess again, a new interview with him was released yesterday night at European time...

Jorath Calar 02-01-2002 05:29 AM

But that interview was taken in october, the pakistanian tv sation didn't want to release it but the CNN "stole" it...?
or so I heard...

I hope he is dead and rots in hell... and for me to wish that on anybody says a lot

WOLFGIR 02-01-2002 05:46 AM

Aha! Haven´t seen it.

Well I hope that he will be taken alive, would be for the best IMHO..

He is very sick with diabetes and needs daily injections of insulin to survive. Of course the American bombs couldve stopped him getting that, unless he has a stockpile of it. He could be hiding anywhere.

I think that it will be for the best if he is never found. Reasons: 1) even if he is a terrorist, he is a sick old man, and I am humane. 2) If he is caught it will prompt more terrorist attacks, hijackings, hostage-taking etc. If the Americans want the terrorist issue to go away, they should let it die quietly, not with more civilians killed.

I saw the video where he looked so pale and sickly. He definitely looked the worse for wear and his condition seemed to have deterioated at an incredibly fast rate. Of course, it's a medical fact that - once your kidney's shut down - your life expectancy drops to 2 days at best.

If he's dead, then I hope his body is found so that it can be confirmed. If he's alive, I hope he's captured and brought to justice. The American public needs "closure" on this issue. And we are already living under constant rumors of further attacks, so there is no reason not to blast bin Laden straight into the "arms of Allah".

I find it interesting that as sick as he may be, he still wields (sp?) quite a bit of power. As far as I know (and I could be wrong, the probability is high) he has some things in the works for more attacks whether he is around or not.

As far as his health, well... I do not wish him ill, but it would be nice if he realized that he is not accomplishing what he is setting out to do. Terrorism has a 100% failure rate - meaning that it NEVER evokes sympathy for the cause, but rather alienates. It confuses me why it is constantly used.

For a while ago, a former Taliban-soldier said that bin Laden died from a lunge-illness in the early December.
I dont believe it, but he says that he was there when he died...

see ya!

I don't think he's trying to evoke sympathy but rather rudely tell the US government to keep their noses out of his business. Either way he's made his point, if in a rather inhumane way. I think his country might be at the stage where they have nothing left to lose so they're just going for it. Don't forget it's also the American government that trained these ppl to fight for them in the first place... I guess it's a bit like the dog that bites its master. Only America's not really Afgahn's master.

I'm sure there are other terrorist countries out there that just don't dare openly go up against America, I mean frankly no Country is stupid enough to go looking for total anihalation(sp?) although they might resent American interference in their affairs.

What the terrorists did was wrong. But Bin Laden's probably seen as a Hero for the terrorists now. No matter if America catches him or he dies he'll always be the Terrorists "Gahndi" in a kind of way.

Also the use of the word "Terrorist". If you think about it, back when America was fighting for it's independence, what did the English call that if not terrorism?
