hahahahahaha lol couz i can pick any person in the game(nobelman, beggar, peasant etc......) all ya have to do is do the CLUAConsole trick with the baldur ini. file and move your cursur over a guy and then hold the Ctrl and press Q and then you have control over that guy

the discription of irenicus is he is a mage(not a specialist) at level 30,neurtal evil and has xs to 5 level 9 spells but knows not all the spells. his hitpoint are 89(i guess)

there are some interesting problems with Ctrl-Q, however. many of the townspeople and NPCs (not ones that can become party members, but named people who are plot-related) are defined as having "no class" (kinda mean, really) and so crash the computer when they level up. Also, while some main NPCs have small portraits (Bodhi, Irenicus, Balthazar, etc) none of them have large portraits. So, anybody with no portrait gets a weird silhouette-question mark picture instead. For instance, Naljer Skal has a ridiculous amount of 9th level spell slots, but weird stuff happens when he joins the party. people in the party that were never intended to be that way don't have a lot of things defined. They get no NPC interactions, and cause nasty problems with plot events, and even worse stuff I won't even mention here.

(SPOILER- it is possible to save Yoshi in chp.6 if you never took him to spellhold with this, but it makes stuff nasty)

So, if you feel the need to use Ctrl-Q to add anybody to your party, beware.

can you control irenicus too ?

SixOfSpades 04-24-2002 05:17 PM

If they're in your party, of course you can control them--even make them cast potentially lethal spells on themselves. (Yeah, like THAT'S really realistic.) I've fooled around with Ctrl-Q a few times, but only for laughs:

Me: Ctrl-Q on Firkraag
Me: Boot Firkraag from the party
Firkraag: [waddles over to me] "Are you sure you want me to leave the group?"
Me: "Yes, I think you should go."
Firkraag: "Okay, bye." [waddles off & is never seen again]

It's better to CLUA in Jon Irenicus as a seperate character before you go adding him to your party because some nasty bugs remain. By the way, he has AC-24(!), HP 75 or so, permanent spell deflection and Globe of Invunerability, couple portraits, and believe it or not, he's chaotic good! 6 lvl9 spells though. Oh, and his CLUA code is sujon1 or sujon2(2 is better I think). Beware, when you add him to your party, he becomes bugged right after your ritual in Spellhold. Not hostile, just doesn't respond to any commands you give him. I don't think bodhi buggs if you add her to your party though. She level drains targets on every hit she does, but of course she's evil, so watch your Rep.

If you CLUA in Dragons, be careful because they can't go in small areas like dungeons, and their area damage breath attacks cause neutral allies to become hostile when they take damage. Had Red Dragon in Chpt 6 VS. Bodhi, and Shadow thieves guild turned Hostile because the Red Dragon Fireball hit Arcanis Gath(or whatever tha thief's name is).

Otherwise, enjoy the power of the greater beings!

Hello guys, i've never thought of it before...controlling non-player characters by using Ctrl Q. Does it really work? Can you like control a lich and might it fight with it's kind??? Or a bunch of vampires and make them go on a homicidal rampage???

Gothmog, Lord of Balrogs 04-25-2002 02:50 PM

you don't just control them; they're in your party. if you want to just control them, use Illithid Control Circlets :D .

Thus, you cannot control more than 5 of them, and that requires booting out all other NPCs. They are then, for all intents and purposes, IN your party. you can edit their spells, command them, equip items on them, etc. They also never turn on you if damaged. So you could go through the game with a horde of vampires, but they would have to be unnamed and unknown. For vampires, though, on second thought, their death might cause the gaseous form transformation, meaning you would lose them and they couldn't be resurrected.
