On December 28th, my mother and I took our much loved family cat to the vet. Casper did not come back home with us. He was 16 years old, and had an untreatable heart condition and difficulty breathing. We made the the only decision we could.

My mother was too upset to stay with Casper for the final moments, so I stayed, for her, for my sister in London, for myself, but most of all for Casper. It was the hardest thing I have ever done.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Pangur :( I know what it's like to lose a family member like that; it must be extremely sad for you.

My sympathies Pangur... I know how it is to lose a family member like that... :(

I can most definitely sympathize with you, Pangur.

I had to make that decision myself a few years ago with my Baby who had gotten cancer (from having his rabies shot in the same place for too many years). It destroyed me emotionally to do it, but I could not leave him during that time. I still cry when I think of it (as I'm doing now), but I would not have had it any other way.

Sometimes, doing what is best is very difficult.

My condolences to you and your family. My admiration to you for your courage and fortitude in staying with Casper.
