who do ya think who is stronger a mage or a cleric??? i think a mage
|
if youre talking about lvl 20 or something, i think the mage is far more superior. but when aprox. lvl 5, the cleric might even be stronger.
|
when the mage and the clerics are both at theyr max. level
|
then its mage. lets see how far can a cleric run from an Abi Dalzim`s Horrid Wilting :D , eh?
|
hahahahhahahha i would like to see that 2 mwahhahahah
|
lol, thats easy counterd with...
[cleric] Shield of the Acrons - [cleric] [mage] Abi dazims horrid writiing - [cleric] Abi dazims Horrid Writiing no effect [cleric] Creeping Doom - [mage] Mage cant cast any spells [cleric] Bash with mace [mage] Death :D I agree that if a mage does his buffs i.e Stoneskin, Spell shield, spell immunity ect, the cleric could be killed quite easy, but IMHO the battle could go either way. |
it's really hard to compare mages with clerics. mages have pretty horrid weapon selection, and clerics do too, but clerics can almost resemble second-rate melee fighters if you try hard enough. Mages have time stop/improved alacrity/vecna to cast every spell he knows, but has few really great defensive spells. Clerics cannot decrease their casting time except by Amulet of Power and Drow Elven Chain +3, while mages get AoP and RoV. So, in a battle of high levels, a lvl31 mage would clean up the floor with a lvl40 cleric in most cases. in the "real world" and the everlasting Roleplaying Perspective, killing a lvl40 cleric of any deity would cause holy fury to rain upon the mage and all he holds dear, which he would not survive for more than about 5 seconds. Slaying the favored of a god is not recommended.

I strongly agree with what Gothmog said!
No offense but BGII is supposed to be a roleplaying game so at least try to think of it as such!!! |
While I agree that a high level Mage would probably win a battle with a Cleric, Clerics are essential to your party. Their protection spells give my tanks almost total immunity (protection from fire, lightning, free action, death ward, negative plane protection, caotic commands), bring on the bad guys. They can also be used as front line fighters (draw upon holy might, armor of faith, haste), for those times when the enemy warps in all around your party and you need to protect that all so powerfull mage when he is at his most vulnerable.

I tink they'r difrent, it's alwas wise to have at least one of tehm in the party
