some time ago, i dumped off jaheira and picked up viconia. much later, though, as i was passing by the harpers building jaheira initiated dialoge with me. she spoke to me as if she were still in my party. is this normal or is it a bug?

I think it normal since I take it that you haven't completed the Harper Quests.
She is not trying to romance you however!

maybe youre just a babe magnet ;)

seriously though...when you dropped her off, did she say something about expecting you to come back to finish her quest?

Hmm... I remember getting that. She says something to the likes of, "We have to get going!", and it has happened to me when I was playing a male character, and then two times when I was playing a female character. So, I'm pretty sure it's not something to do with romance. ;)

It is not part of the romance!It is part of the harper quests if you have blown the romance!You will not get it if you are romancing Jaheira!

she tells me something about the druids that she had joined up with and how she eventually joined the harpers. at the end, she said "lets get going". this is my 2nd time playing bg2 and the 1st time she never even once mentioned the harpers. does the race of your character make a different? in my first game, i was a half-orc. this time around i'm a human.

The surest way is to check your romance active variable via the console.
Type CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("JaheiraRomanceActive","GLOB AL").
That will give you a number from 1 to 3.
If it is 1 then the romance continues and it is probably a bug since the romance with Jaheira is blown if you drop her even for one time.
If it is 3 then the romance is finished and you have missed your chance.
Your characters race determines if you can have a romance.Half Orcs can't romance with any NPC.
